A cocktail bar set to open in Newcastle next month has been inundated with applications as it looks to fill 80 roles.
The Alchemist on Nelson Street will be the franchise’s ninth UK venue, with the jobs being created including mixologists, servers, chefs and hosts.
The double fronted venue has been designed to reflect the North East’s industrial past and will feature quirky and decadent interior design.
Visitors will be able to access the restaurant from its main entrance or the newly refurbished intu Eldon Square dining zone.
Within ten days of starting its recruitment process, the popular bar and restaurant received almost 1,200 applications.
As a result, three recruitment days have been organised ahead of March’s launch.
Simon Potts, managing director of The Alchemist, said: “Newcastle city centre is an obvious destination for us as a brand because our target market is urban, savvy, fun-loving professionals who are after something that little bit different.
“The response to our recruitment drive has been superb and we’re looking for people who want to build their careers with us.
“The Alchemist is a fantastic place to work and we thrive on creating theatre and delivering a top class service for our guests.”
